The Gwa'Sala - 'Nakwaxda'xw First Nation is an Indian Band formally recognized under legislation of Canada (Indian Act, R.S.C. 1985 c. 1-5, as amended, and regulations made thereunder).

3. Who are the aboriginal people represented by the First Nation?
The Gwa'Sala - 'Nakwaxda'xw First Nation represents all members of the First Nation as shown on the Official Band List maintained by the Gwa'Sala - 'Nakwaxda'xw First Nation.

4. How many aboriginal people are represented by the First Nation?
547 members

Is there any other First Nation that claims to represent the aboriginal people described in questions 3 and 4? If so, please list. Through a March 14, 1997 accord with the British Columbia Treaty Commission there are other First Nations who may collectively enter into negotiations on common issues with both Canada and British Columbia which may be considered to be representative of the Gwa'Sala - 'Nakwaxda'xw First Nation membership. The other First Nations are as follows:

Attached hereto as schedule "B" are copies of two isolated resolutions: first, a resolution moved, discussed and passed at a Gwa'Sala - 'Nakwaxda'xw Council meeting held September 30, 1996, and; second, a resolution moved, discussed and passed at a Gwa'Sala - 'Nakwaxda'xw First Nation general membership meeting held December 5, 1995. The custom election regulations permits a quorum of the general membership meeting at 50 electorate members and at these two general membership meetings there were 65 members in attendance at both occassions.
