The aboriginal people represented by the Quatsino First Nation are: the Klaskino, the Gopino, the Koskino, the Ho-yalas and the Quatsino.

The First Nations that the Quatsino First Nation may have overlapping or shared territory are: Tlatlasikwala First Nation, the Kwakiutl First Nation, the Che:k'tles7et'h' First Nation, the Ka:'yu:'k't'h First Nation, and the Nuu-Chah-Nulth First Nation. The Quatsino First Nation have signed peace treaties with the Che:k'tles7et'h' and the Ka:'yu:'k't'h' First Nations regarding their shared territories on the west coast of Vancouver Island. The Quatsino First Nation has also reached agreements with all of the First Nations of the Nuu-Chah-Nulth Tribal Council regarding their common boundaries.

At a general band meeting held on December 19, 1995, a motion was moved, seconded and unanimously passed with one abstention, that the Quatsino First Nation and people immediately submit a Statement of Intent to enter into treaty negotiations.
